Skin boosters are injectable treatments designed to deliver deep hydration and improve skin quality from the inside out. Unlike traditional dermal fillers, which "fill" specific lines or add volume to cheeks and lips, skin boosters use a soft, runny form of Hyaluronic Acid (HA) to bathe the skin in moisture, stimulating collagen and elastin without changing your facial shape.

Profhilo is a multi-award-winning "bioremodeling" treatment. While many skin boosters simply hydrate, Profhilo has one of the highest concentrations of Hyaluronic Acid on the market. It doesn't just sit under the skin; it flows like honey through the tissues to "remodel" sagging skin, improve firmness, and create a significant "glow" that topical creams cannot achieve.

Skin boosters are often described as "injectable moisturiser." Key benefits include:

Most patients see the best results after a course of 2 treatments, spaced 4 weeks apart. The rejuvenated "glow" and improved firmness typically last between 6 to 9 months, depending on your skin type and lifestyle.

Downtime is minimal. You may see small, bee-sting-like bumps at the injection sites immediately after treatment, but these typically dissipate within 12–24 hours as the product spreads through the skin layers.

While Profhilo is our primary choice for deep tissue remodelling and hydration, we also offer Teoxane Redensity 1 for patients requiring a more targeted 'nutrient boost.' During your consultation, Dr. Chi will assess your skin’s specific needs—such as fine lines or loss of luminosity—and may recommend Redensity 1 where clinically appropriate to achieve your best results.

If your concerns go beyond dehydration—such as thinning skin around the eyes, scarring, or a loss of elasticity—you may be a better candidate for Polynucleotides. Unlike skin boosters, which hydrate the surface, Polynucleotides work at a cellular level to regenerate and repair the skin's foundation

Following your clinical assessment and treatment, you may notice small, temporary bumps at the injection sites. These are perfectly normal and typically settle within 6–24 hours as the hyaluronic acid or polynucleotides integrate into the tissue. Please avoid touching the area, applying makeup, or strenuous exercise for the first 24 hours to prevent infection and ensure optimal settling.

To minimize the risk of bruising or swelling, we recommend avoiding alcohol and anti-inflammatory medications (like Ibuprofen) for 48 hours. Please also avoid extreme heat, such as saunas, steam rooms, or sunbeds. As a GP-led clinic, we prioritize your safety; staying hydrated with plenty of water will help maximize the hydrating effects of your skin booster

While some luminosity is visible immediately, the full bio-remodelling effect of Profhilo or the cellular repair of Polynucleotides develops over 4–8 weeks. We advise avoiding other facial treatments (like peels or microneedling) for 2 weeks. Dr. Chi remains available for any post-treatment queries to ensure you are supported throughout your journey.

Serious complications are extremely rare in a doctor-led setting, but immediate contact is required if you experience significant pain, skin mottling (a dusky or purple appearance), or extreme heat in the treated area.
